Peter joined Equitable Advisors in 2006 as a Financial Professional upon graduating from UNC Charlotte with a concentration in Finance – He served the Charlotte community as a partner with the Retirement Benefits Group (RBG), a specialized division of Equitable Advisors, RBG is the primary distributor of our products and related solutions to the educators in our community. Peter led his team in production for over a decade, working directly with individuals to develop their personalized retirement income plan with Equitable Advisors and was recognized Nationally for Rookie of the Year in 2007. Peter then went on to earn:
- The National DSF Champion in 2008
- Divisional DSF Champion 2009 and 2010
- Retirement Benefits Group Builder Award 2009 and 2010
- 8 time National Leaders Club and 5 x Centurion producer award
- In 2010 he earned the Management Development Award recognizing the top 3 newly appointed managers within the company and in 2012 the Charlotte Branch Office Manager of the Year award. Peter has helped build three additional Teams in the Carolinas Branch by promoting Benjamin Slone, Stephen Poulton, and in 2022 finalized his leadership career by launching the Jazmin Williams team!
The Mission of the Charlotte Retirement Benefits Group is to be the leading provider of retirement plans and advice for educators and their families.
Peter earned his Retirement Benefits Specialist certification in 2007, series 7, 66, Life & Health, Long term care license, and Series 24. Additionally he has completed his Certified Retirement Education Specialist designation through the NTSA.
Peter continues to “sharpen the saw” through continuing education and has currently completed the education requirements for the CFP designation. Peter is motivated by his peers who strive to be the best for others and is now working towards becoming a recipient of the Equitable Hall of Fame Award. In 2021 Peter surpassed Equitable’ s Hallmark 1 Award. These are two great milestone awards for planning within the firm and recognized amongst the industry.
Of all his accomplishments at Equitable, Peter says he is most proud to have earned the privilege of joining the leadership team to help solidify this group as one of the leading financial service companies in Charlotte.
Peter currently resides in Waxhaw, NC with is wife Samantha, and two children. Peter is a long time parishioner of Saint Gabriel’s Catholic Church spanning 4 decades and prides himself on being a “local home grown Charlotte Hornets and Carolina Panthers fan”. Peter is currently the Chairman of a local nonprofit “The Academy of Finance” at Olympic HS where the organization works to make sure students have work based 21st century learning programs to be prepared for life’s NEXT steps. In addition, an active board member of the Union County Education Foundation where he volunteers his time to encourage educators and support students through raising funds to provide LIFT Grants for Teachers. Since joining this board, they have collectively raised over $197,000 for HS scholarships, funding teacher classroom projects through LIFT grants, and countless internships for HS seniors.
